Greg Peavey

Hudson Bay High School, Vancouver, WA

With all the returning pitchers for Hudson Bay High School, Coach Tom Adams believes his team will be a contender for the championship this year, especially with Sophomore Greg Peavey as the number one pitcher.

As a freshman, Greg topped out at 90 mph and is pretty good in the field as well.  On the mound he was 7-1 with one save, an ERA of 2.12, 64 strikeouts and 13 walks in 49.1 innings.  Greg also pitched this summer for USA Baseball junior team.  In 14.1 innings he had 15 strikeouts, only 8 walks and an ERA of 1.88.  He was also topping out at 93 mph. He is got good control from the mound, Coach Adams said, And he is a good offensive player, too.  He hit .422 as a freshman.

This 6 ft 1 inch, 180-pound young athlete help knock off the number one team in the state last year and hopes to do it again.  Hudson Bays team has been playing together for some time and really enjoys the game of baseball.  They finished last season with a record of 23-3 and fourth in the state.

According to Coach Adams, Greg is a big piece of the overall team.  He throws the ball with velocity and that is good.  The team has a wonderful nucleus that Greg is in the middle of.  He is a great kid and loves baseball, as does the whole team.  They could be called field rats.  They live and breathe baseball.  Needless to say, Coach Adams is looking forward to a great year.  With most of his returning starters and Greg as the ace, Hudson Bay is looking to go all the way.  Plus, Coach Adams is excited about a future where his team can dominate the state.
